History

1983

Stratton Equipment was founded by Russell Pollard, with a passion for heavy equipment a new company was formed after a 20 year carreer in the forest industry. Russell seen an opportunity for a heavy equipment dealership need in the area and started to build a foundation for what 35 years later is a very well known company throughout Canada and the USA.

1986

After substantial growth in equipment sales Russell seen the need for a service repair side of the business and started a partnership with the owner of then Honest Charlies repair shop. From that moment, Russell Pollard and Charlie Morken took a strong hold of the forestry & construction equipment sales in all of northern Ontario, making and creating a well known equipment dealership name for the new limited company known as Stratton Equipment Sales & Service Ltd. with strong sales all over northern Ontario, reaching to both coasts of Canada the USA and to South America.

1987-1990

Record sales followed by main office & shop expansion as more employees were needed in the shop. Stratton Equipment took on the world renowned Bobcat line of equipment and also the excellent brand of Link-Belt excavators, for the next number of years Stratton Equipment was one of the leading Forestry & Construction Equipment dealers in Canada. Following were exciting new dealerships in Franklin Equipment, Clark Skidders, Barko Hydraulics, Allied Systems, & many more helped Stratton Equipment succeed in an ever growing industry.

1990 -1992

Contiuing with a successful forestry program of scarification, Russell had started in 1977, Stratton Equipment run a fleet of 595 Franklin skidders, trucks and low boys to support the operation. Stratton expanded into the market further by opening a parts store in Atikokan to better support the area and its customers but after a number of years of operating they decided to sell the store to the then manager and concentrate their efforts more at the main shop.

1993

A new and exciting partnership is established with the Terex Corporation of America & it lasts until 2007. A successful run with the Terex articulated haul trucks, Stratton Equipment made themselves well known throughtout northern Onatrion and Manitoba in the haul truck market selling a large number of trucks into the local market.

2005

Moxy articulated trucks from Norway takes a strong hold in the articulated market throughout Canada with Stratton Equipment renting and selling numerous 27, 31 and 36 ton trucks.

2007-2008

Develon Infracore America purchases Bobcat Company and Moxy making Stratton Equipment an even bigger dealer with more products to sell. Stratton Equipment dives into the wheel loader market with the excellent Develon Wheel Loaders.

2009

Charlie Morken is bought out by Russell Pollard who takes over sole ownership of Stratton Equipment

2010-2018

Over the past eight years Stratton Equipment has had great success in the Construction, Forestry & Mining sectors moving new and used equipment all over the world. Many new and exciting opportunites from real estate developments to the aggregate sector. Stratton Equipment continues to look for new opportunites to help grow the business and support our employees and its customers.
